Hello Mt. Pulaski Faithful,
I hope this communication finds you and your family safe as we navigate week two of shelter in place. Governor Pritzker, in collaboration with Illinois State Board of Education State Superintendent Dr. Carmen Ayala, announced that the mandated school closure would be extended from March 30th to April 7th.
As of today, Mt. Pulaski CUSD 23 is planning for students to return to classes on April 8th, but at the same time we are considering the possibility of the closure extending further into the spring. This will entail additional planning for student home instruction. The district is issuing a communication with frequently asked questions that you may find through TeacherEase email, Facebook and the school website.
The Mt. Pulaski School Board realizes that stress and uncertainty has been placed not only on the school system, but more directly on the families of our students. Mt. Pulaski Schools are dedicated to supporting our students’ and staff through these challenging times.
Please keep your focus on your children during this trying time. Encourage them to do their best with home instruction and tell them their teachers understand the challenges of learning away from school. The work they are completing is just an exercise to bridge the gap until they return to the classroom. No students’ grades will be negatively affected through their home instruction work.
