Good Evening Hilltoppers,
Today, we learned that one of our teachers has tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was last in the high school on Friday, November 13, 2020. We are reaching out directly to students and staff, whom we are aware of, that were in “close contact” with the impacted employee. Close contact is defined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) as “being within approximately 6 feet of a COVID-19 case for 15 minutes or longer”. Contacted individuals are instructed to self-quarantine at home until the Logan County Health Department deems their return to school safe.
The safety of our students and staff is our top priority during these circumstances. We have consulted guidelines from the CDC and will be conducting a thorough cleaning and disinfecting of all areas that has been affected by the individual. This is in addition to the daily cleaning and disinfecting conducted by our maintenance staff.
Please feel assured that the Mt. Pulaski CUSD 23 Hilltop Return to School Plan 1.0 and 2.0 have outlined the necessary systems and practices necessary to protect students, staff and community. It is our commitment to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
If you have questions, please contact the district office. Mt. Pulaski Schools thanks you for your understanding, support and continued diligence in combatting this pandemic.
Respectfully,
Fred Lamkey, Mount Pulaski Superintendent
